Sun-Joo Oh

BIOGRAPHY

 

Dr. Sun-Joo Oh is an Assistant Professor in Voice at ETSU, where she joined the faculty in 2005.

Sun-Joo (Sunny) Oh is also an experienced concert artist. She has been the featured soprano soloist with orchestras across the states,and sung some of the greatest works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Handel, Lehar, Gounod, and Vivaldi. Sunny also possesses experience on the operatic

stage. Some of her most noted roles include Ernestine

in Monsieur Choufleuri (Offenbach), Miss Silverpeal, and Madame Goldentrill in The Impresario (Mozart), Musetta in La Bohème (Puccini), Norina in Don Pasquale (Donizetti), and the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute (Mozart).  Dr. Oh has also been featured in solo recitals throughout her native South Korea, Italy, Germany, and the United States.  Her specialties include the works of Baroque, as well as contemporary music.

 

Sun-Joo received her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of South Carolina, Performance Certificate from the Boston Conservatory, and both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Sungshin Women's University in Seoul, South Korea.  Her primary teachers have been Dr.

Donald Gray and Sheri Greenawald.
