CALL FOR COMPOSITIONS
The Paramount
Players invites all composers in Northeast
Tennessee and Southwest Virginia to submit
compositions for performance consideration.
Composers whose compositions are chosen will
receive a performance of the composition, an
archive recording of the performance, and
inclusion on the Paramount Players’ future
website. There is currently no monetary
honorarium associated with this call for
compositions.
Composition
Parameters
Length: 5 – 15
minutes long
Instrumentation:
Trio, Quartet or Quintet with any
combination of flute, clarinet, violin,
cello and piano. Submissions that include
one instrument beyond present instrumental
resources will be accepted for
consideration. If selected, the performance
of such submission will depend upon the
ability to find a performer of the added
instrument. Example: Quintet for flute,
clarinet, horn, violin, and cello.
Style: While any
style of composition will be accepted for
consideration, we hope to build a collection
of original chamber music compositions by
regional composers that reflect a connection
between the creative urge of the composer
and the audience that we serve in the
Tri-Cities. The compositions most likely to
win a performance will musically address the
intangible issues of sound and style that
surround this challenge. The committee will
be directed to consider audience appeal in
their decision.
Copyright and
Ownership: All rights to the composition
will remain with the composer. The Paramount
Players will request of those composers
whose compositions are chosen the honor of
premiering and performing at will as well as
perhaps recording the composition in the
future.

Composers must reside in Northeast Tennessee
or Southwest Virginia
Submission
deadline: Please submit 5 copies by October
1, 2006. If you would like to make midi
sound version available, please submit in
either cassette tape or CD format. Midi
sound versions ARE NOT required.
