Singing in the Spring
With Eugene

Singing in the
Spring celebrates the art of singing and
instrumental melody. Soprano, Judith
Sheridan will collaborate with American
clarinetist, Eugene Jones on two sets of
duets by Ralph Vaughn Williams and Jacob
Gordon. Pianist Craig Combs will join the
duo to present Hirtenlied by Giacomo
Meyerbeer and the amazing Mozart aria,
“Parto, ma ben tu mio” from La clemenza di
Tito. The second half will sing with the
instrumental melodies of Anton Dvorak’s
first piano trio in B flat major, op 21.

You will hear the power and majesty of
Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A Major, K 414
juxtaposed against the astounding
Shostakovich Piano Quintet, a musical
comment on the power of the artist to
overcome tyranny and repression. In
addition, we present the European premiere
of Jorge Figueroa’s Libertango for Piano
Quintet.
